Smith & Wesson Secret Service Double Action Revolver with Holster and Badge.

Serial no. 163805, .38 caliber, 3 1/4-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Left side of barrel marked: SECRET SERVICE SPECIAL. Checkered hard rubber grip panels. Contained in unmarked leather holster. Sold along with badge: SPECIAL DEPUTY SHERIFF around CHEHALIS / CO. / WASH.
According to consignor notes. this gun is pictured on page 200 of Gunsmoke and Saddle Leather by Charles G. Worman, 2005. He also states this gun belonged to George Smallwood, Special Deputy Sheriff of Tacoma, Washington.

Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 30-40% finish, the balance a dark grey patina with scattered signs of wear and pitting. Dings and scuffs present to grips. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore. Heavy cracking present to leather.
