Description
Iron Cannonball from HMS Victory.Cannonball measures 6-inches in diameter and is displayed on an Italian olivewood base and lid. Case measures: 9 x 9 x 1-inches. String tag attached to the lid reads: HMS VICTORY. This cannon ball is from the Armoury of HMS VICTORY. It is known as a "Chain Shot" and it's purpose was to bring down the masts of Enemy Ships. Tag was provided by The Society for Nautical Research.
Condition: Very good, Showing honest age and wear.
