Victorian-Era Silver Pommel Riding Crop Presented as a Shooting Prize to a Trooper in the West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry.

40-inches long, russet-brown braided leather with a 2-inch tall silver pommel decorated in floral designs. The escutcheon of the pommel is neatly engraved: "2nd W.Y.Y. Cavalry / PRESENTED BY / MAJOR WATERHOUSE / AND THE OFFICERS OF / A TROOP TO / PRIVATE CHRISTOPHER T. RHODES / FOR THE BEST SHOT AT / BALL FIRING PRACTICE / 29TH JUNE 1864".

Condition: Very good. Small ½-inch split at the base of the pommel; trivial shallow dents.
