Description

U.S. Spurs: Extraordinary Silver Eagle Spur.
This beautiful spur may well be a unique design produced on special order from a US officer. The spur shows exceptional workmanship and detail, and is either coin or sterling silver, save for the iron rowel. The chain links holding the strap plates are typical of the 1840's or earlier spurs. Crouch surmised this spur is likely a Mexican War era spur. One of the best spurs in the Baird collection, and extremely rare.
From the Bob Baird Collection
