Presentation Bowie Knife by Slater Brothers, Sheffield.12-inches in overall length. 7-inch spearpoint blade etched AMERICANS / ASK FOR NOTHING BUT WHAT IS / RIGHT / OK / AND WILL SUBMIT / TO NOTHING WRONG. Ricasso marked VENTURE / SLATER / BROTHERS / SHEFFIELD. Embossed cutlery handle with raised beaded work, engraved on one side C.F. GREEN / TO / C.O. BREED and JULY 20TH / '' 74 on the other. Oval guard. A nice and interesting knife worth researching more, if possible.
Condition: Very good with minor wear to blade, light patches of scattered patina. Sharp edges, a few faints nicks. Handle fine, possibly cleaned. Markings crisp.
