Description

Copy of a Confederate Field Officers' Sword in the Style of Boyle & Gamble.

30 1/2-inch slightly curved blade with wide fullers on both sides extending to within 8-inches of the tip. Brass hilt with "C.S." on a ribbon encircled by a wreath which is surmounted by a star on the counterguard. Other floral designs appear on the guard. Pommel cap likewise decorated. Underside of guard is stamped with the number "30". No other visible markings. Wooden grip covered in leather and with single wire wrap.
Please note: This sword is being offered as a reproduction/copy, not an original Confederate sword.

Condition: Good. Blade with a dark patina and light surface rust, point tipped. Guard is loose, portions of leather missing from the grip but it remains largely intact. From the Collection of Dr. Phillip R. Rutherford.
