Belgian FN-49 Semi-Automatic Rifle.

Serial no. 29757 [receiver], 7.92 x 57mm caliber, 23 1/4-inch barrel with standard military sights. Blued finish. Left side of receiver marked: FABRIQUE NATIONAL D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE. (crown) to top of receiver. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivels and shoulder sling. Bayonet lug. Brass buttplate with cleaning tool reservoir. The FN-49, also known as the SAFN-49, is a semi-automatic rifle designed by Dieudonné Saive and produced by Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal (FN), a Belgian arms manufacturer. It was developed in the 1940s and became one of the last successful military semi-automatic rifles before the widespread adoption of select-fire battle rifles like the FN FAL.

Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 70-80% finish with noticeable thinning to relief edges, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Crisp action. Bright bore. From the Collection of James Schubert.
