Description

Important and Exceptional Specimen.

Confederate Spiller & Burr Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 76 [frame (under triggerguard), lever and cylinder], .36 caliber, 7-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Top of barrel marked: SPILLER & BURR. Blued finish. Brass frame with C.S. stamped to right side. Case-hardened hammer. Smooth walnut grip panels.
Note: Very early example of an Atlanta made revolver. Flayderman's Guide states that only about 1,450 were manufactured, with only a dozen or so known to exist.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with honest age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood, crack and some loss to base of right panel. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
