Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle.

Serial no. 148425 [receiver], .32-40 caliber, 26-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: MANUFACTURED BY THE / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN U.S.A. Peep sight on upper tang. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate. Manufactured in 1899.
Initially, the Model 1894 was introduced in .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester calibers, both of which were black powder rounds.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings, scuffs and bruising present to wood. Appears to be a carved A to right side of stock. Action good. Lightly pitted bore. From the Collection of James Schubert.
