U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle.

Serial no. 528320, .45-70 caliber, 32 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable folding rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. V / P / (eagle head) / P and A stamped to top of barrel. Lock marked: (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivels and stacking swivel. Two barrel bands, each stamped: U. Metal buttplate with tool reservoir, multi-tool included. US / 40 to top of butt.

Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 70-80% finish with light signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Vibrant case colors remaining. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action crisp. Bright bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
