Colt Single Action Army Revolver.

Serial no. 53001 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: COLTSPT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Three-line, three-date patent to left side of frame. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1880. The Colt Single Action Army was introduced in 1873 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company. It was adopted by the U.S. Army as a service revolver starting in 1873 and remained in official service in various roles up to the late 19th century.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with some thinning to relief edges, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Faint tracking line to cylinder. Few scuffs present to wood. Crisp action. Bright bore.
