Remington Model 1100 Semi-Auto Shotgun owned by Texas Ranger W.R. "Rudy" Flores.Serial no. N703166, 12 gauge [2 3/4-inch shells], 22-inch round barrel. [star] near caliber indicating full choke. Blued finish with hardwood stocks. Left side of frame marked REMINGTON MODEL 1100 [and serial number]. Also marked DPS-28445 which is the Department of Public Safety's Inventory number. Gun has factory engraved scroll highlights on both sides of frame. Checkered pistolgrip stock and forearm. Remington buttpad. Gun comes with a photocopy of letter from the Texas Department of Public Safety dated November 7, 2007. In the letter, W.R. Flores states "This letter is to let you know a little about the shotgun you purchased.......Remington 1100, Serial Number N703166, is stamped as property of the Texas Department of Pubic Safety. The ownership is indicated by an assigned inventory number, DPS28445. I was issued the shotgun upon my promotion to the Texas Rangers in 1996. The shotgun was retired in 2007 and I subsequently purchased it from the State........Respectfully, [signed] WR Flores." Unfortunately, an inventory card photocopied on top of the letter has blocked his second paragraph which appears to talk about its previous owners based on the card. Still it is a nice piece of provenance and chain of custody for the next owner.
W.R. "Rudy" Flores was in service from 1996-2015. He reached the rank of Sergeant and was in Companies B and F.
Condition: Fine as presented. Retains most the original finish with fine scratches and minor thinning. Wood possibly has been refreshed. Action good, bore good.
