Description
Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott Cinco Peso Ranger Badge.Constructed from a Mexican 1947 or 1948 issue five peso coin which has been hammered slightly convex and voided to create the Texas "Lone Star" central motif. The badge is engraved on the obverse GLENN ELLIOTT / TEXAS RANGERS, the letters highlighted with black paint and enhanced with additional floral accents. The reverse still retains traces of the die struck 5 peso coin and features a hinged pin and barrel catch for mounting.
Glenn Elliott (1926-2012) was a highly respected Texas Ranger from 1961 to 1987, known for his dedication to justice, involvement in high-profile cases, and recognition as one of the Rangers' finest, as highlighted in his autobiographical works A Ranger's Ranger and Still a Ranger's Ranger.
Condition: Fine, displaying wear from use. Moderate toning present.
