Colt Artillery Model Single Action Army Revolver Inspected by Henry Nettleton.

Serial no. 8223 on frame [cylinder 9355], .45 caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel. Top of barrel reads COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Side of barrel reads 45 COLT. Blue frame finish. H.N. stamped cylinder for Henry Nettleton. Appears to be a factory refinish about 1903 according to the markings. Barrel marked RAC for Rinaldo A. Carr under cylinder pin. There is a period after Co. on barrel address. G stamped on butt of backstrap. According to consignor notes, this gun was shipped to the US Government, no letter provided.

Based on serial number 8223, gun was manufactured in 1874.

Condition: Good to very good as configured and factory re-finish.
Metal surfaces now a gray-brown patina with scattered nicks and patches of pitting. Strong bluing to frame. Grips worn with moderate age wear and soiling, heel loss. Action good. Bore dark. From the Collection of Oran B. Jolley.
