Colt Single Action Army Revolver Stamped SANTA FE RR.

Serial no. 234949 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .38-40 W.C.F. caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. SANTE FE RR stamped to left side of barrel. Two-line, three-date patent. Checkered hard rubber factory grip panels. Manufactured in 1902.
Note: This gun is pictured on page 168 of Colt Peacemaker Encyclopedia Volume 2 by Keith Cochran. Colt Factory letter confirms current configuration minus "Types of Stocks" and no mention of the Santa Fe RR marking. Gun was shipped to H.S. Bettes Hardware Co. in Paris, Texas on November 13, 1902, guns in shipment, 10. [Photocopy of Colt letter is included].

Condition: Good. Finish is a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and pitting. Tracking line to cylinder. Smooth checkering, heavy dings and scuffs present to grips. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
