First Year Production Colt Model 1861 Navy Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 966 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch round barrel with fixed front sight. Top of barrel two-line reads -ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-. Originally blued finish. COLTS / PATENT stamped to left side of frame. 36 CAL marking to left side of triggerguard near frame. Marked 2 forward of trigger. Naval engagement scene on cylinder. Brass triggerguard and backstrap. Wood grips. Manufactured in 1861.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina overall. Nice mellow patina to brass with fine scratches. Grips with loss and repairs; scratches and bruising, Marred screws. Replaced wedge. Action functions. Dark bore. From the Collection of Oran B. Jolley.
