Description
Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver.Serial no. 303718 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, butt and cylinder], .31 caliber, 4-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front bead sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS COLT SAML NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. Stagecoach cylinder scene. Left side of frame marked: COLTS / PATENT and .31 CAL on triggerguard. Brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Wedge marked 03718. Manufactured in 1868.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with traces of bluing in protected areas; signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scuffs, dings and scratches present to wood. Nice mellow patina to gripstraps. Action functions. Lightly pitted bore.
