Description
U.S. Remington 1863 Zouave Percussion Rifle.Unserialized, .58 caliber, 33-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. barrel marked: STEEL H.S.L., 1863 and V / P / (eagle head). Lock stamped: 1863, (eagle) / U.S. and REMINGTON'S / ILION, N.Y. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Hinged brass patchbox. Brass triggerguard and carbine butt. Metal ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with scattered signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Crisp action. Strong bore.
