Description
U.S. Model 1836 Martial Flintlock Pistol by A. Waters.Unserialized, .60 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Lock marked: (eagle head) / A. WATERS / MILBURY, MS. / 1840. Smooth hardwood stock with round metal butt, triggerguard, barrel band and swivel ram rod. manufactured by Asa Waters, a well-known arms manufacturer from Millbury, Massachusetts, who produced a significant number of pistols for the U.S. government during the early 19th century.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with signs of age, handling wear and pitting. Scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Cracks to each side near butt. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore.
