Description
Revolutionary War Era American Lion's Head Silver Hilted Short Saber, Ex William Guthman Collection.Measuring approximately 29 1/2-inches overall with a 23 3/4-inch blade with single fuller on each side. Excellently rendered lion's head pommel and divided counterguard decorated with ribbons and foliate designs. Double chain guard. Spirally grooved bone handle. A handsome example.
Condition: Very good. Dark patina to blade; some nicks in the cutting edge; the pommel and handle are a bit loose on the tang.
