A Rare Wooden Ceremonial Shield, Probably Italian, with the Image of Medusa.

Approximately 23-inches in diameter. Restored by internationally known art restorer Michael Hodowal, and similar to the inventory of those at Konopiste Castle,( c. 1580-1590). Note: Michael Hodowal is a very accomplished painter and restorer. He is well-known for not only his artwork, but also his restorations of damaged art. He is internationally known and his artwork reaches the high five figures. According to askArt, "Recently works by Michael Hodowal have been selected by the U.S. State Department to represent the nation in foreign embassies."

Condition: Very good as restored and presented. Handling wear. Backing with scuffs and some marks, but otherwise good as presented.
