Albumen Cabinet Card Photos: Two Sitting Bull's Camp & Sitting Bull's Cabin, by D. F. Barry of Bismarck, Dakota Territory. Several buffalo hide tipis make up the camp scene with title in negative, and Bismarck, Dakota Territory backmark. A squaw and girl sit outside his cabin, with Barry's West Superior, Wisconsin studio imprint and title below image, and studio imprint verso with likeness of Chief Gall. Sitting Bull was murdered December 15, 1890 as his arrest was ordered by Agent McGlaughlin at Standing Rock in order to quell excitement during the ghost dance. This event coupled with the massacre at Wounded Knee Creek two weeks later signaled the last of the Indian war period. Both excellent with tack holes on camp image. From the estate collection of E.F.
