Description

William Jennings Bryan & William Howard Taft: Matching Pair Cup & Saucer, 1908. Made by Waterloo Pottery of Waterloo, Iowa, the cups are 2 1/2" tall and display busts of Bryan and Taft respectively. Each saucer has the candidate's name in script and the date 1908. Bryan's name is less crisp than the Taft counterpart and the glaze has a matte finish. Inexpensively produced, examples appear infrequently and are typically marred. It is most unusual to find a pair, especially in such good condition.
