Description

J. E. B. "Jeb" Stuart: Autograph Note Signed. 5" x 8" note, penned by Stuart on a single side of plain paper note sheet, in full: "Be sure to direct $6 Lieut J. E. B. Stuart Fort Riley K.T. P.S. I enclose also $3 more for which please send the Congressional Globe & appendix to P. L. Taylor, Fort Riley K.T." Stuart, one of the most celebrated Confederate cavalry commanders, served auspiciously with both Lee and Jackson. His death at the Battle of Yellow Tavern was a serious blow to the Southern cause. It is accompanied by the original $3 enclosure (Phoenix Bank of Connecticut) and a James Spence PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.
