Description

Alf Landon: G.O.P. Buggy Rarity. This 1ΒΌ" celluloid with filled back, produced by M. M. Bear of Chicago, is a true rarity of the 1936 campaign. A busy design, it shows the G.O.P. buggy with an American flag and is inscribed "American Constitution. Rally to Constitution Flag & Prosperity. It Stood From Washington Until Trampled Upon by Roosevelt. It Was Good Enough for Our Forefathers. It is Good Enough for Me." FDR would win re-election and continue to irk strict constructionists by his efforts to pack the Supreme Court. The button has light, even staining around the perimeter, but the central design is very clean.
