Description

Robert F. Kennedy: Autograph Note as Attorney General Signed, 1963, following the death of President Kennedy. Engraved, black-bordered card inscribed and signed, front and back, 5" x 3.5," Washington DC, no date [circa 1963]. On his engraved U.S. Attorney General black-bordered mourning card, Robert F. Kennedy writes in black felt-tip pen ink in full: "Dear John, / My thanks to you for your kind and / thoughtful letter to me. I know how / much you admired the president and / how highly he regarded you-I appreciated / your writing me and hope that some day / soon I have a chance to see and / talk with you - / Best, / Bob." The embossed gold Department of Justice seal floats at the top of the card; the engraved words below the seal read, "THE ATTORNEY GENERAL / WASHINGTON." Tape residue on upper edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
