Description

Zachary Taylor: Colorful and Graphic Bandanna. General Taylor, Rough and Ready, is the central figure on this rare, 23" x 29" cotton bandanna, listed in "Threads" as #205. It is printed in brown, blue, and red. The colors are strong and not faded. A large American flag dominates the center with portraits of Winfield Scott, John Wool, R. Patterson, and C. A. May, all Mexican War heroes, in the four corners. It is generally well-preserved, but there are some pulls around the edges and corners and on the central vertical fold, affecting the Taylor portrait. The pull on the Taylor portrait has an old sewn repair. Despite the faults, it has a lot going for it and will display well, once framed.
