[Arthur Conan Doyle]. Framed Vanity Fair Caricature of Actor William Gillette as Sherlock Holmes by "Spy." Measures approximately 14.5 x 9 inches matted, 20.5 x 16.5 inches framed. Not examined out of the frame, but print seems to be in very good or better condition.

Caricature from a 1907 issue of Vanity Fair by Sir Leslie Ward, the magazine's artist who was known by his pseudonym, "Spy." William Gillette (1853-1937) was an American actor, internationally famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on the stage, in film, and on radio.
