Large quarto. [2], xxix, [1, blank], 323, [1, blank], viii, 476 pages. With fifty-five illustrations by artists such as Remington, Frost, Beard, Sanford, and Gifford. Descriptive tissue guards. Contemporarily rebound in full brown leather with decorative animal head vignettes and rules stamped in gilt on the boards. Raised bands. Titles in gilt on morocco labels. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Joints repaired but sound. Boards moderately scuffed with modest bumping to the extremities. Spine worn. Endpaper repaired. Captioned tissue cover over the frontispiece torn in half and detached, but present and complete. Small morocco bookplate affixed to the front pastedown: "Ex-Libris Frank J. Hogan." Contents bright. An overall very good copy of this scarce work.
