Ex-library, formerly part of Case Western University's Case School of Applied Science, Department of Physics. Call number pasted to front cover. Library bookplate to inside front cover. Library call number in pencil and stamps, one of which is marked through in black, on the first page. Library stamp to verso of last page. Library checkout card and pocket still affixed to inside back cover. Text is clean. Very good condition.

A rare, pre-publication edition of forty-one lectures delivered between September 14, 1943 and March 2, 1944 by various scientists developing the atomic bomb. The lectures were delivered in six series: Terminology, Radioactivity, Neutron Physics, Two-Body Problem, The Statistical Theory of Nuclear Reactions, and Diffusion Theory. Among the lecturers were numerous future Nobel Prize winners, such as Edwin M. McMillan, Emilio Segre, Felix Bloch, Robert F. Christy, a student of Robert Oppenheimer's, and Edward Teller, "the father of the hydrogen bomb."
