[Charles Dickens]. [Ellen Ternan, Dickens' Mistress]. [Frederick Fox Cooper]. Little Dorrit. A Domestic Drama, in Three Acts. Founded Upon the Popular Novel, by Charles Dickens. As Performed at the London Theatres. [London: Purkess's Library of Romance, circa 1856-1857]. Small quarto. Measures 6.125" x 8.25". Set into mounting corners and matted to an overall size of 9" x 11", ready to frame. Eight pages. With a hand-colored half-page wood-engraved image on the first page. Self wrappers. Minor age-toning, rubbing and edge wear. One leaf is adhered to the glue of the mounting corner at the bottom right corner. Near fine condition. The cast list for this shortened adaptation of Little Dorrit includes Ellen Ternan, Dickens' long-time future mistress, who plays the title character. From the Victor Gulotta Collection.Auction Info
