Description
Original Alternate Design for Dust Jacket of Stuart Little
Garth Williams. Unused dust jacket design, Stuart Little.Garth Williams. Original preliminary drawing for an unused dust jacket design for Stuart Little, 1945: Margalo carries Stuart to shore (versions of which appear as illustrations on pages 62 and 64), with title above and author credit below. Ink on paper with blue and red washes. 7.875 x 12 inches. Initialed by Williams at lower right. Creased by the artist to resemble the front panel of a dust jacket, with an image area of 7.875 x 5.125 inches. Two small areas of surface loss to paper inside image area, and some minor soiling along folds. Very good. From the Estate of Garth Williams.
