1779 Treatise on the Pineapple
William Speechly. A Treatise on the Culture of the Pineapple and the Management of the Hot-House. York: Printed by A. Ward, for, and Sold by the Author, 1779.First edition. Octavo. vi, xviii, 186 pages. With two engraved plates, one of which is folding, and two explanatory leaves, one of which is also folding.
Contemporary speckled calf with five raised spine bands and a red leather title plate lettered in gilt. Moderate wear and light soiling to the binding, with the front joint spilt but holding. No front endpaper. Bookplate to front pastedown. Glue stains on endpapers, with offsetting to the title page as a result. Short tear to folding plate. Contents very clean. Very good.
