[Cuthbert Bede, pseudonym]. Edward Bradley. College Life. A Series of Original Etchings. Oxford: Wyatt and Son; Cambridge: Dimmock; Durham: Andrews, [1849]. First edition of Bede's (Bradley's) first book. Approximately 9.25 x 6.5 inches. [iv], [24, leaves of plates, including frontispiece]. Publisher's green cloth backstrip over original boards, printed label on front cover. Some wear and chipping to spine, some rubbing and soiling to covers, one crease to lower corner of frontispiece (not affecting image). Previous owner's neat initials on front free endpaper. Still, a fine copy of this very rare item.

Cuthbert Bede (pseudonym for the Rev. Edward Bradley) was a very popular nineteenth-century English caricaturist and illustrator who was a regular contributor to Punch Magazine and published several humorous illustrated books.
