John McLean Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 10", Cincinnati; April 25, 1842. A letter to the Secretary of the Navy sending a letter of recommendation for the son of a friend. In part: "This youth I understand is promising and well educated for his years". Three additional endorsements written on the verso. Usual mail folds and light toning.
