Description

John T. Ford Autograph Letter Signed. One page on "Ford's Opera Houses" letterhead, 8" x 10.5", Baltimore, October 19, 1883. Possibly writing to Congressman "Sunset" Cox, Ford writes: "I rejoice greatly at the announcement of your presence in Baltimore at one last grand rally...We are in peril and want a rallying speech on the necessity of unity for the sake of the Union, give us a big talk". Flattened folds with light staining and pencil markings from previous collector. Ford is most noted for being the proprietor of Ford's Theater at the time of Abraham Lincoln's assassination.
