Description
Colt Lightning Double Action Revolver. Serial no. 47961 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .38 caliber, 3 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and two-line Hartford address. Nickel-plated finish. Checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips. Backstrap marked: METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPT. D.C. Manufactured in 1883. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg. Condition: Good. Retaining traces of nickel finish, remaining a brown patina with heavy wear, pitting and flaking. Grips with scratches and checkering worn smooth in most areas. Action needs adjustment. Bore is fair with moderate pitting.Auction Info
