Description
King Henry IV of France Document Signed "Henry." One page, 14" x 10.75", np, May 2, 1610. This document discusses the finances of a particular military campaign. It is countersigned by a general whose name is illegible. It is written in old French and has docketing information on the verso. Henry IV of France was the first of the Bourbon Kings of France and promulgated the Edict of Nantes that gave Protestants the liberties they were fighting for and essentially ended the civil war. This document was signed just twelve days before the King was assassinated by a fanatic.The document is in fine condition; usual folds are present; document has had several repairs made to it, including, several holes have been patched, rebacking of the parchment, and the repair of a large tear on the right edge. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
