Joe Rosenthal Signed "Iwo Jima" Photograph. Black and white, 8" x 10", signed in the bottom margin adding "Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima February 23, 1945" A most wonderful association piece, Rosenthal's most famous photograph. A few minor creases at extreme corners, not affecting the image, overall fine condition. Offered with the original transmittal envelope addressed and signed by Rosenthal from the San Francisco Chronicle with a 1950 postmark. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.Auction Info
