Description
Rare Confederate Cavalry Sabre with Wooden Scabbard and Copper Rivets, attributed to H. Marshall & Co. of Atlanta, Georgia. Overall 39.5 inches in length with a 35.5 inch blade, age darkened patina. The wooden grip is unwrapped and has heavy single strand wire, a Roman numeral XI is engraved into the side of the guard. The wooden scabbard has a slight crack near the top mount. The tin mounts and drag still retain much of their original black paint. Overall a fine and very desirable Confederate sabre made in Atlanta.Auction Info
