Description
Charles Magnus Civil War Song Sampler. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection comes this extraordinary collection of "Six Military and Patriotic Illustrated Songs" as published by Charles Magnus of New York, circa 1864. Printed on heavy stock as a brochure, the piece is 31" x 8" flat and folds to 5" x 8". The songs presented include, "Our Grandfathers' Days", "The Captain With his Whiskers", "Want a Substitute", "Dixie's Land", "Young America and Old Ireland", and "Kingdom Coming". The lyrics are all placed below full color engravings. The verso of the last panel gives a detailed price list of the many printed products offered by Magnus. Overall light browning with a 2" split on the first fold, else very good condition overall.Auction Info
