Description
Apollo/Saturn 18 (Apollo Soyuz Test Project) Signed Color Launch Photograph, 10.75" x 14" matted to 15.5" x 19.5", framed to 18.5" x 22.5". Pictured is the launching of the Apollo Soyuz Test Project's (ASTP) NASA Apollo/Saturn 18 space vehicle from Pad B, Launch Complex 39, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, at 3:50 p.m., July 15, 1975. The Soviet spacecraft (Soyuz 19) was launched seven and one-half hours before the American ASTP/Apollo-Saturn 18 liftoff. Inscribed on the matte "To Nig and Betty Coons-With Very Best Wishes, and signed by the American crew: Crew Commander "Tom Stafford," Command Module Pilot "Vance Brand," and Docking Module Pilot "D K Slayton." Light stains at perimeter of image, else fine. ("Nig" was an affectionate nickname for Dr. Coons and Betty was his wife.) From the estate of Dr. D.
