Apollo/Saturn 18 (Apollo Soyuz Test Project) Signed Color Launch Photograph, 10.75" x 14" matted to 15.5" x 19.5", framed to 18.5" x 22.5". Pictured is the launching of the Apollo Soyuz Test Project's (ASTP) NASA Apollo/Saturn 18 space vehicle from Pad B, Launch Complex 39, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, at 3:50 p.m., July 15, 1975. The Soviet spacecraft (Soyuz 19) was launched seven and one-half hours before the American ASTP/Apollo-Saturn 18 liftoff. Inscribed on the matte "To Nig and Betty Coons-With Very Best Wishes, and signed by the American crew: Crew Commander "Tom Stafford," Command Module Pilot "Vance Brand," and Docking Module Pilot "D K Slayton." Light stains at perimeter of image, else fine. ("Nig" was an affectionate nickname for Dr. Coons and Betty was his wife.) From the estate of Dr. D. Owen Coons, Chief of NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center Medical Office.
