THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF CHARLIE DUKE

Apollo 11 Lunar Surface Flown Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Presented by the Three Man Crew to Mission CAPCOM Charlie Duke in Framed Display, Directly from His Personal Collection. An awe-inspiring display that features a 4" diameter (sight size) swatch of Beta cloth with a 3.375" diameter mission insignia depicting an eagle carrying an olive branch to the moon with the Earth in the distance. Framed with two 5" x 7" canvas color photos on either side of iconic images of the first lunar landing. All have been matted and framed to an overall 22.5" x 12.5". Affixed to the frame is a metal plate that states: "Presented To/ Charlie Duke/ In Appreciation For Your Service To Apollo 11/ From Neil, Mike, & Buzz". Duke served as the voice from Earth to the crew on the historic lunar landing. Such a fitting gift to the man who was the link between Mission Control and the brave men risking their lives in the name of exploration. Apollo 11 lunar surface flown items are some of the most desirable items from the space race. We are honored to offer such an incredibly unique and important example. This is truly an extraordinary opportunity. Frame shows some age related wear, overall very fine. Included with this lot is a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Charlie Duke.
