"BATTLE OF CHICKAMAUGA" CONFEDERATE WAR LOG, CUT FROM TREE ca 1863. This very unusual item from the Battle of Chickamauga (Sept. 19-21, 1863), was cut from tree on battlefield. It was on the Union side of battlefield as the shrapnel is all Confederate. There are three bullets, large piece of Confederate Reed Shell, spherical case shrapnel, lead Sabot, Hotchkiss shrapnel & Confederate polygonal break shrapnel mounted on base of this War log. Measures 57" x 12" (bottom of base) and mounted on 20.75" x 20.75" base. Has a polyurethane finish.
