Hundred Years War: Untitled Painting of a Medieval Battle. Oil on canvas, 24" x 17", framed 25.75" x 18.75" (overall), unsigned. The painting shows a pitched battle between French soldiers on the right and English soldiers on the left. The soldier in the foreground to the right is holding a shield with three fleur-de-lis and above the soldiers on the left is a flag with the Cross of Saint George. The painting needs cleaning and has very modest craquelure, else very fine.Auction Info
