Obverse bust facing right with epaulets and ponytail, JOANNI PAVLO JONES CLASSIS PRAEFECTO around, COMITIA AMERICANA under bust ("The American Congress to John Paul Jones, commander of the fleet"), reverse naval battle scene with HOSTIUM NAVIBVS CAPTIS AVT FVGATIS ("The vessels of the enemy captured or put to flight"), in exergue AD ORAM SCOTIAE XXIII SEPT.
