[Zachary Taylor] Land Grant Secretarially Signed "Z. Taylor" for Revolutionary War veteran descendant. One vellum page, 13.75" x 17.75", October 1, 1849, Washington, granting one hundred and fifty-four acres near the Ohio River to "Allen Latham", an heir of "Nathaniel Mason, a Captain of three years . . . deceased." (This grant was in accordance with a 1790 act granting Revolutionary War veterans land northwest of the Ohio River.) The document is countersigned by Secretary of the Interior Thomas Ewing, Sr. Contains the blind-embossed seal of the U.S. General Land Office in the bottom left corner. With folds; fine.Auction Info
