Description
Model 1888 Turkish Commission Rifle. 8mm. Essentially a standard German Gew 88, these rifles, altered to accept the 1905 "S" cartridges, were provided to Turkey by her German allies in WWI. This example has mismatched numbers (as is common) and a mixture of German and Turkish parts, also common. The receiver is marked with a Loewe, Berlin maker's mark, Turkish crescent, and date of 1891. Good condition.Auction Info
