Description

Harry S. Truman: Typed Letter Signed. 8" x 10.5", one page, on United States Senate letterhead, March 7, 1939, Washington, D. C.. Truman writes to his old friend Rufus Burrus about corruption back in Missouri, in part, "As you know, public service is a difficult thing for a man to carry out when he entirely interested in his private gain." Truman adds a handwritten postscript "There can be no reflection on me personally in this because I made a record that will bear searching." Boldly signed. Attractively framed with a picture of Truman (23.25" x 17" overall). Original folds and filing holes, else, excellent.
