Description
Grover Cleveland: Most Unusual Campaign Bandana. This is the first example we have encountered of this distinctive design, executed in black and white with gray and red accents on the typical linen. The set-up costs of producing a bandana design must have been substantial, because it is amazing how few significant variants seem to have been made. The vast majority of political bandanas of the 1880s and 1890s consist of a handful of familiar, widely distributed designs. This kerchief is somewhat evenly faded, and has several small areas of brown staining, but it is nonetheless a significant example. 17" x 17.5".Auction Info
